Llansannan manager Tom Lewis is the latest to choose his All-Time North Wales XI.
Players selected can be from any era. Managers can choose players they worshiped as a kid, played alongside, played against, managed or managed against.
Tom is in his first season as Llansannan boss, having previously been assistant to Gari Lloyd Evans.
The team had been performing really well in the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Premier Division, as well as in cup competitions, before last month the coronavirus pandemic caused the indefinite postponement of football everywhere.
Tom says: “I’ve gone for a team of players who I’ve either seen live on several occasions or played with/against.”
Made his name at Prestatyn Town with some tremendous performances, most notably in the 2013 Welsh Cup final against Bangor City at the Racecourse when he almost single-handedly won Prestatyn the cup!
Had a very good spell at Denbigh Town as well. Incredible shot stopper.
As a Wrexham fan it had to be!
Classy full back who came through the Everton youth system and did well for Wrexham for a couple of years.
Had a good few years at Bala Town and played over 100 games for them. A class act at WPL level.
Played most of his career at TNS and won countless individual WPL awards but looked as if he could play at a much higher standard if he had wanted it enough.
Twice played in front of 80,000 people for Wales away at Ireland and Russia. Had a decent spell at Wrexham as well.
WPL legend, won the lot in Welsh domestic football with Rhyl and Bangor City.
Seen him play at Farrar Road and Belle Vue several times over the years and always a commanding presence.
Strong, old school centre-half and a great leader.
Has looked a class above every time I’ve seen him play.
Has been a great servant for Caernarfon Town and scored some memorable goals for them. Wand of a left foot.
I’ve played against Ows many times and never got anywhere near him!
One of the best players the Vale of Clwyd has ever produced, still turning in good performances in the Welsh Alliance at the age of 40 alongside coaching duties at Denbigh Town. Class act and a top guy as well.
Was clear to see he was going to go on to play professional football when he started at Bangor City.
Went on to have a good career at big clubs like Swansea City, Norwich City and Swindon Town. Won 7 Welsh caps as well.
Doing pretty well as a pundit on Sgorio these days also!
A bit of nepotism here as Mike is my uncle!
Not many people who saw Mike at his best would disagree with his inclusion though, one of those players who could excel in any position and rightly considered a legend at Denbigh Town.
Still fit enough to dominate Monday night 5 a side even at the age of 58!
Another player I was lucky enough to watch regularly at Denbigh Town in the late 90s.
Tommy was a lethal striker who scored a ridiculous amount of goals in Welsh domestic football.
Got his big move to Swansea City and stayed there for a couple of seasons. Prolific for Bangor City and Rhyl in the WPL as well.
I had to include one of our lads!
The only person who rates Leon higher than me is Leon himself!
Joking aside he’s been first class since he joined us 3 years ago and his experience is a massive help to me and the club.
Been a top striker for several clubs at WPL level and also for Morecambe and Lancaster City in the English pyramid.
Recently signed a new contract extension at the Llan Siro so any approaches are unwelcome!
Probably the best striker in Welsh domestic football over the last 20 odd years.
Was lucky enough to see him play several times for TNS, Rhyl, Bangor City and Porthmadog.
Lethal in front of goal and his record is second to none – an all-time best 319 Welsh Premier goals.
