Penrhyn Bay Panthers made it back-to-back 4-0 wins and moved to the top of North Wales Ladies Recreational League Group West after a comfortable victory over Llanfairfechan Town at Llandrillo College.
Sonia Jones (2), Cat Jones and Melissa Lloyd scored the goals which lifted Bay to the summit, one point ahead of Llanfairfechan
It was a fast-paced game from the kick off. The Panther ladies were determined to play in Llanfair’s half and kept pushing and pressing their defence all over the pitch.
Llanfair weathered the storm with some resolute defending, ending the first third 0-0. Panthers came out strong in the second third, Sonia Jones opening the scoring. More sustained pressure from the hosts resulted in a second goal for Sonia Jones.
Going into the final third 2-0 up, the Panthers were eager for more, with several substitutions made.
Penrhyn caused the Llanfair defence and keeper to work hard. Cat Jones made it 3-0 for the home side before Melissa Lloyd came on and netted her first goal for the team.
Player of the match for Llanfair was keeper Lisa Gannon, who pulled off some great saves.
