When a player describes their best-ever goal it’s a great feeling when you realise you were there when it happened.
Leonie Prytherch’s amazing 35-yard strike for Bethel at Rhyl two seasons ago remains one of the greatest goals I’ve ever seen in women’s football.
I was standing right behind her as she hit it, and from the moment it left her boot the ball was bound for the top of the net beyond the keeper (who was not short in height).
The celebrations both on the field and on the touchline were something to savour – they had seen something very special.
