Gwynedd League – December 30, 2019

Dylan Summers-Jones scored five as Bangor 1876 produced a baker’s dozen and ensured they end the year top of the Gwynedd League.

The goals glut began in the seventh minute when Matthew Lock struck from close range.

Summers-Jones then bagged a hat-trick to make it 4-0 by the 36th minute.

The young attacker chipped home from 30 yards, then applied a cool finish before heading in a Les Davies cross to complete another treble.

Just before the break a long distance strike from Davies made it 5-0 at the changeover.

Half-time: 5-0.

Seven minutes into the second half Jamie Petrie got in on the act with his 32nd goal of the campaign.

Cameron Barry added a seventh before Bontnewydd replied with a Matthew Roberts penalty.

Davies then converted a Michael Johnston cross, but Bont kept trying and won themselves a second spot-kick which Roberts put away for 8-2 in the 79th minute.

Rampant 1876 then added five more goals in the closing minutes.

Summers-Jones recorded his fourth before Davies made it a hat-trick and 16 for the season when he blasted into the net.

Luke Steele and Benn Lundstram added their names to the scoresheet before Summers-Jones rounded things off with his fifth of the night and 33rd goal overall this term.

A superb crowd of 440 were at Treborth to witness a ruthless, free-flowing display from Mel Jones and Dylan Williams’ side.
