Colwyn Friendship beat Menai Bridge 49-28 in a great clash between two giants of North West Wales Netball League Division One last night.
Both sides promoted a player from other teams within their clubs, and it was brilliant to see Jessie Charker and Kara O’Neill taking on the challenge Division One.
It was the night for shooters as both sides’ took the title of Christmas PoM.
In a goal-packed Division Two thriller, Denbigh outscored Llandudno Blazers 53-46.
Although Knicks were the only Llandudno team bringing home a win this week, the kudos has to go to the Blazers team. They pushed and pushed Denbigh as far as they could take them.
Winning the first quarter, Blazers were on their way. Only trailing by one at the end of the second quarter 25-24, the Llandudno team were definitely still in the game.
The second half proved Denbigh had the edge as the stronger team, however Blazers kept on fighting making it almost goal-for-goal in the final quarter.
A total of 99 goals in the game – almost two a minute!
Division Three saw Craig-y-Don beat Colwyn Youth 23-17 in a cracking contest.
A very close game for the first half with only one goal in it ending both first and second quarters.
Craig-y-Don managed to eke out a six-goal lead in the third and held onto it, going goal-for-goal in the last.
Jessie Hughes (Colwyn GD) and Ellen Hughes (CYD GA) proved a great hard working pair as they both received PoMs.
