North West Wales Netball League: Clinton James win clash of the giants

Elin Barwick, Lucy Leonard and Tara Howard (left to right) of Clinton James in Division One

In the North West Wales Netball League Division One Clash of the Titans, Clinton James came out on top 49-35 against the always formidable Colwyn Friendship.

Clinton took an early lead, winning the first quarter 16-7. Colwyn never lost hope and despite a really valiant effort in the final quarter it was Clinton who claimed the honours in the end.

The attacking circle of Clinton really made for a good show as it brought up two POMs in shooter Sophie Cocking and Colwyn’s defender Lorien Mackenzie-Chadwick.

Llandudno Blazers

Llandudno Blazers maintained winning form as they took on CGG for the second time this season in Division Two.

With an early lead for Blazers opened up it was looking like they were in trouble in quarter three as CGG really closed that gap to 25-26.

By the fourth quarter though, you could see who really wanted that win and the final score was 40-30 to Blazers.

All three games in Division Three were high scorers but big credit to Abergele Diamonds who won with their highest score this season as they defeated Craig-y-Don by a whopping 44-19, dominating the game from start to finish.

Well fought by Craig y Don though, who did not lose determination all the way through.
