Welsh Cup round three
Flint Town United 2 Bala Town 0

Cymru North underdogs Flint caused a big upset by knocking Cymru Premier high-flyers Bala out of the Welsh Cup.

Callum Bratley broke the deadlock on 32 minutes and Andy Brown added a second near the end with a powerful header. Bala had Lassana Mendes sent off for a bad tackle close to half time.

One of Flint’s finest results in recent years earned them a home tie with Colwyn Bay in the last 16.

Welsh Alliance League Division One
Greenfield 1 Llanrwst Utd 2

Llanrwst manager Leighton Griffiths has every reason to feel happy with his team’s form at present

In-form Llanrwst made it eight wins in a row with a 2-1 decision at a Greenfield side above them in the table before start of play.

Callum Parry netted both for the Rwsters – including an 86th-minute match-winning penalty – to make it 18 league goals for the campaign and 28 in all competitions.

The Conwy Valley side are up to fourth in Division One and remain unbeaten in league combat away from home.

Welsh National League Premier Division League Cup
Plas Madoc 2 Brymbo 1

Ryan Roberts’ Plas Madoc achieved one of their finest results of the season to beat league title contenders Brymbo 2-1 and set up a visit to Saltney Town in the last eight.

Ramone Nelson and Liam Sklenar were on target for the hosts.

Welsh National League Premier Division
Rhostyllen 2 Penycae 2

After a season of mixed fortunes to date, Penycae could feel proud of picking up a point at leaders Rhostyllen.

Steven Jones and Tom Douglas netted for the hosts, Calyn Spencer with both for the visitors.

North East Wales League
Borras Park Albion 3 Caerwys 4

Jordan Hadaway’s first game in sole charge of Caerwys could hardly have been more rewarding or dramatic.

The 18-year-old Hadaway saw his team recover from two goals down to snatch a 4-3 victory at Borras.

Ryan Price and Jack Hanley put Borras two goals ahead within the first five minutes.

After the break two quick strikes from Theo Wolford Dyer and Tom Cumming brought Caerwys level by the hour.

It looked set to end in a draw, but the late drama began when Daniel McGinnis made it 3-2 to Albion in the 88th minute.

That was far from the last of the drama. Kieran Smith made it all-square and then Elgan Hughes delivered the winner for Caerwys.

Anglesey League
Holyhead Hotspur Res 1 Cemaes Bay 1

A fine outcome for a Hotspur side with Cemaes looking very commanding at the top of the table.

A very late equaliser from Curt Williams secured the hosts a draw.

Dan Jones’ goal meant half time arrived with a 1-0 scoreline for Cemaes, who had two players sent off in the closing stages with Hotspur’s leveller causing much controversy.
