RGC Under-16s aim to sign off on winning note away to Scarlets West

RGC Under-16s travel to Carmarthenshire on Sunday to face their Scarlets West counterparts at St Clears RFC (KO 2.30 pm).

It will be their fourth and final match this year, as the Regional Age-Grade Competition takes a break before resuming again in February.

Last weekend saw the RGC youngsters defeat the Dragons Black 16s 42-0, in a scrappy game played at Parc Eirias, and head coach Gav Hodgkinson is more than aware that it will take an improved performance to win Sunday’s game and thus maintain their unbeaten record in the competition thus far.

Hodgkinson said: “Whilst delighted with our defensive performance, both coaches and players feel that we could have played a lot better attack-wise.

“The Scarlets are always strong, particularly at home, and we will need to put in an improved performance if we are to win at St Clears.

“Having said that, training has gone well this week and we are very much looking forward to Sunday’s challenge.”
