A grand total of 418 finishers were recorded last Saturday at Conwy’s Bank Holiday Parkrun, including nine members of North Wales Road Runners Club.
Martin Green was the first club man home in the unusually hot and dry conditions in 18 mins 17 secs as part of his marathon training – and claimed 1st MV40 cat place.
In 7th place was Mark Jessett, who seems to be back to his best form, recording a new Parkrun PB of 18.50, and he was also 2nd SM30 cat.
Steve Roberts finished 24th and was 1st MV50 in 20.56, with Kevin Slattery in 29th spot in a great time of 21.02, with his son Ian visiting the event on holiday to record a PB of 18.55 and was 3rd MV30. Gethin Jones continued his recovery from injury in 42nd place in 22.14.
Don Hale was 53rd and 2nd MV65 cat in 23.02, with Stuart Culverhouse running with young son Joe who finished 102nd in 25.23.
For the ladies, Rachel Morris was 243rd in 32.05 and Helen Hannam, running for the first time as a guide with partially-sighted runner Charlene Gomes, finished in 315th place in 35.36.
Gemma Moore was the first female finisher and claimed a great new PB in 19 mins 50 secs at the Penrhyn Castle Parkrun.
Jon Evans just missed out on a new course record by 2 seconds at the Newborough Parkrun on Anglesey but claimed the 1st M50 cat position in 29th place (22.58).
On Bank Holiday Monday, Jon Evans took part in the Hoylake 5k race and although he said he struggled, he still recorded a very creditable time of 23 mins 30 secs.
