Result: Northop Hall won by 52 runs

Hall’s James Hurlin passed 50 league wickets for the season as his team completed the double over Prestatyn.

Hurlin claimed 4-44 to reach 51 First Division victims in 2019, while spin partner Mohammed Enamul Haque moved up to 53 by taking 3-26 at Beach Close.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat, making 210-9 declared off 54 overs, opener Alistair Andrady head and shoulders above the rest with 65, while a number of other batsmen produced bits and pieces efforts.

Kieron Tidswell took 4-70 and Adam Tidswell 2-43 for the hosts.

Prestatyn were then bowled out for 158, despite good contributions from Robert Rimmington (43) and the ever-consistent Gareth Leonard (33).

Hurlin and Haque led the way for the Hall, with Matthew Hodgson picking up 2-31.

Northop Hall, who won 24-6 on points, lie sixth in the table, while Prestatyn remain third bottom but still have a healthy lead over the relegation-threatened basement two.

Colwyn Bay (4) 180-10 Bootle (20) 184-2
LDCC 1st XI ECB Premier League
Result: Bootle won by eight wickets

Colwyn Bay remain bottom of the Premier and 13 points adrift of safety after a sound home thrashing at the hands of title favourites Bootle.

Bay had claimed a famous first-ever league win over the Liverpudlians last season, but there was to be no repeat at Penrhyn Avenue.

Colwyn were put in and dismissed for 180 off 53 overs, Michael Littler (65) and Saliya Saman Jeewantha (63) the only double-figure merchants. Keith Barker took 5-55 for Bootle.

The visitors got to 184-2 in 42.2 overs to clinch a 20-4 points split, Will Hale best with 103 no and Paul Jenkins 2-51 off 18 for the hosts.

Result: Hall won by 50 runs

Gareth Fox hit a second team career-best 108 for Hall in their 50-run success over North Wales rivals Prestatyn at Smithy Lane.

Opting for first knock, the Flintshire side rattled up 248-3 declared from just 38.3 overs, Fox leading the way and well backed by Mike Wiliamson (52 no) and Matthew Dunning (40).

Andy Taylor struck a magnificent 126 off 112 balls in 10-man Prestatyn’s reply, but no-one could stay with the opener and the travelling side were bowled out for 198, Caleb Dyke 4-72 in a 25-5 success for the hosts.
