Hat-trick hero Dylan Summers-Jones made it eight goals in three matches for a Bangor 1876 side which produced an awesome display of attacking football at Treborth on Monday night. reports Dave Jones.

Visitors Caergybi gave it their all, keeping the scoresheet blank up until the 34th minute and trailing just 2-0 at half time, but in the second period Mel Jones’ team simply ran riot.

It looks very likely 1876 will dish out these type of beatings to a lot of opponents this season and the Gwynedd League new boys from Holyhead need feel no shame. They will have better days.

While Bangor applied most of the first half pressure, Caergybi’s goal machine James Ryan had a couple of decent efforts to remind the hosts they were in a contest.

Keeper Kieran Weeks did well to keep out a Les Davies header before the breakthrough came on 34 minutes.

Summers-Jones’ shot came back off the post and Jamie Petrie converted the rebound.

Four minutes later Davies headed the ball down nicely and Summers-Jones lashed in a beauty for 2-0.

Half-time: 2-0

With more than 300 in attendance and a few Caergybi supporters in the ground, it made for a good atmosphere on a sunny August evening.

The visitors produced a couple of good early attacks, Ryan going close, and up to the 58th minute it stayed at 2-0.

However, Bangor then upped the gears and Caergybi could not stay with them.

Petrie’s low-ball into the six-yard box found Summers-Jones, who scored at the second attempt, and from there it was totally one-way traffic.

Cian Williams skilfully flicked home a Cameron Barry free kick on the hour and Petrie climbed well to head in a Barry corner after 64.

Summers-Jones completed back-to-back trebles on 66, finishing brilliantly across Weeks with his right foot following a fine through ball from Davies.

Barry made it 7-0 after Davies set him up, latching onto a free kick lobbed over the Caergybi defence by Dylan Williams.

Davies made it four assists when his pass released the impressive Jos Lloyd-Jones, who rounded the keeper before knocking in number eight.

Lloyd-Jones drilled in another from the edge of the box before in added time, Davies was clean through, but unselfishly teed up substitute Leon Owens for the 10th.
