Welsh Alliance: Chris Jones a hat-trick hero as Holyhead Hotspur hit nine at Prestatyn Sports

Holyhead Hotspur gave an early indication that they are one of the chief teams to be feared in Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One this season as they kicked off with a 9-2 away thrashing of Prestatyn Sports.

Chris Jones led the way with a hat-trick, Robert Jones and Dewi Thomas adding two apiece, Kenleigh Owen scoring from the spot and an own goal completing the rout. Dean Hyland and Tom McDougall replied.

Jake Walker delivered a double in Denbigh Town’s 4-1 beating of Mynydd Llandegai, Mark Roberts and a Iwan Bohana own goal completing the home tally, Osian Jones responding.

Greenfield will be more than happy with a 3-1 opening day triumph against last season’s runners-up Bodedern Athletic, Danny Calvert, Sam Jones and Brett Jones striking for the Holywell outfit, Dean Redmond hitting back on his competitive debut for Boded.

Llanberis edged a 2-1 verdict over new boys Glan Conwy, Gethin Wakeham and Tomos Saynor registering for the Darans, Darren Landers for the visitors.

Dave Maddock (2), Luke Smith and Peter Jones did the damage as Llandudno Albion swept aside Penrhyndeudraeth 4-1, Tom Smith for the visitors.

Nantlle Vale celebrate a goal against St Asaph

Tom Mahoney struck first for Nantlle Vale, but a Danny Williams leveller ensured St Asaph City claimed a 1-1 draw at Maes Dulyn.

In Division Two, Luke McGivern’s brace helped Amlwch Town to a 4-1 verdict over Kinmel Bay, Ryan Rowlands and Tomos Wyn adding singles, Steven Flanagan the sole away marksman.

Gaerwen recorded a hugely impressive 6-0 result against Y Felinheli, Iwan Williams (2), Darren Lewthwaite, Connor Gordon, Tim Cavanagh and Lee Jones combining for the half-dozen.

Llandudno Junction versus Pentraeth ended 2-2, Richard Hughes and Jack Nettleton for the Railwaymen, Gwyndaf Hughes and Kian Abbott for the Sandmen.

Llannefydd caned Barmouth and Dyffryn United 6-0, Elgan Roberts, Tomos Jones, Llion Morris, Ynyr Clwyd, Nico Clwyd and Nedw Clwyd all with a goal each.

Great start for Holyhead Town at Penmaenmawr Phoenix, Gary Jo Owen (penalty) and Asa Thomas finding the net in a 2-1 victory, Callum Johnson replying.

Craig Papirnyk, Jamie Banks and Mark Jones got the goals which earned Pwllheli a 3-1 decision over Aberffraw.
