One of the lowest-scoring derbies in North Wales Cricket League history saw Mochdre’s paltry total of 64 prove enough to beat visitors Llandudno.
Elsewhere, Bangor and Denbigh remain joint leaders after comfortable wins in their matches.
Result: Mochdre won by 15 runs
After bowling out Mochdre for just 64 at Black Marsh Fields, Llandudno must have thought they were almost home and dry – but it was not to be.
Birthday boy, Tudno’s Jack Rimmington, put the hosts into bat and it was a sound decision as the skipper himself claimed 5-17 off 8.4 overs. Jack Thornton collected 2-16 and Jamie Grimshaw 2-17, while Mochdre’s top-scorer was Alex Davies (17).
At one stage 46-3, the hosts added just 18 more runs for the loss of seven wickets.
Llandudno’s reply went disastrously, the visitors at one time being reduced to 14-7 as home opening bowlers Gareth Goodson and Russ Boswell ripped through them.
Rimmington (17) and Grimshaw (12) steadied the ship down the order and gave Tudno hope, but they were eventually sent packing for a mere 49.
Goodson finished up with 5-20 and Boswell 4-16. Points: 11-4.
Result: Denbigh won by 8 wickets
Captain Harrison Jones struck a match-clinching 60 not out as co-leaders Denbigh comfortably saw off Brymbo at Ystrad Road.
In a game reduced to 40 overs per side due to the unpredictable weather, the visitors were invited to bat and were limited to 101-6, skipper James Claybrook with a defiant 42.
Jack Griffiths led the way for Denbigh with 2-15 off eight overs.
The hosts eased to 102-2 off 30.1 overs, Jones the stand-out batsman as the points were sealed 14-1.
Result: Bangor won by 8 wickets
South African off-break bowler Franco Kasner claimed a six-wicket haul as Bangor proved too strong for Pwllheli at Parc Bodegroes.
Pwll chose to bat first, but were bowled out for just 99, Kasner nabbing 6-32 off 10 overs and Nadeem Rehman 2-24.
The hosts were 44 without loss at one stage, but then fell apart, Lawrance Barraclough (26) and Craig Edwards (25) their best contributors.
Bangor coasted to 100-2 in 29 overs for a 14-1 success, Owen Reilly 40 not out and Idrees Ijaz 26.
Result: St Asaph won by nine wickets
A swashbuckling 86 not out from Duncan Midgley guided the Saints to an easy victory at Central Park.
Asked to bat first, bottom side Quay were dismissed for 113, skipper Martin Burger making 25 and Joshua Clarke 21, but the visiting bowlers were well on top, Alex Baker with 4-25 and Jason Foulkes 4-30.
Midgley then cracked an unbeaten 86 off 79 balls, including 10 fours and three sixes, as Asaph reached 115-1 in just 23.1 overs for a 14-1 verdict.
