So many exceptional teams – but who is Club of the Month for April?

Choosing the Grassroots North Wales Club of the Month keeps getting harder all the time.

So many teams performed exceptionally well during April, but our choice is Ardal North West title challengers LLAY WELFARE.

Mike Gadie and Steven Halliwell’s side have thrust themselves into Tier 3 title contention with an amazing run of form, having in effect come from nowhere since the turn of the year.

The Wrexham-area side are undefeated since mid-January, going 13 matches without loss, 11 wins, and they have recorded seven league victories on the bounce.

During April, the Welly’s record reads: Played 5 Won 5 Goals Scored 18 Goals Conceded 0 – perfection.

On Wednesday night, May 1, Llay will host Flint Mountain in a true six-pointer between the top two sides in ANW.

With a squad of local lads and run on modest resources, Llay Welfare are producing one of North Wales football’s stories of the season.
