Llongyfarchiadau – Penrhyncoch are the 2023-24 Ardal North East champions.

The Roosters secured a quick return to Tier 2 Cymru North following last season’s relegation with a 1-0 win over chief challengers Llanuwchllyn on Saturday.

Dion Phillips’ 73rd minute goal decided the clash of the top two and ensured Penrhyn’s total of 67 points cannot be caught.

The title triumph more than made up for last weekend’s heartbreaking 5-4 FAW Trophy Final defeat to Newport City.

Gari Lewis’ champions have lost just twice in 27 league matches and are fully deserved kings of Ardal North East.

Third-place Bow Street stayed well on course for a promotion play-off spot with a six-goal show at Cae Piod.

Beaten narrowly at Llanuwchllyn in midweek – their first league reverse in 11 outings – Bow bounced back with a ruthless finishing display against fading force Radnor.

Seventeen-year-old hotshot Caio Carruthers netted a hat-trick for the hosts, including a penalty, Sion Ewart (2) and Dafydd Carruthers also on target, Charles Beaumont (2, 1 pen) replying for for Valley, another spot-kick which was missed costing him a hat-trick.

Dion James, Gerwyn Williams’ 30th league goal of the season and 36th in all competitions, plus a third from substitute Ieuan Brooks earned Dolgellau a fourth league win in succession.

Llandrindod Wells 5 Cefn Albion 1

After three straight losses, Llandrindod rallied in style with a 5-1 thumping of Cefn Albion at The Broadway.

Tom Smith handed Albion a 14th minute lead, but a Liam Hall double turned the tables in Wells’ favour before the break.

Richard Powell (2) and Dutch substitute Samed De Groot put the hosts out of sight in the second period.

Llanfair United 0 Builth Wells 2

Goals from Aeron Powell and Adam Farmer sealed Builth their fifth win in a row and stretched their unbeaten league run to nine matches.

Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant 2 Rhos Aelwyd 2

William Roberts-Morris’ 83rd minute equaliser rescued a point for Llanrhaeadr.

James Haynes edged Rhos in front on 20 minutes, Billy Clarke levelled after 41, but Evan Davies restored the away lead with 61 done before Roberts-Morris made sure it finished all-square.

Aelwyd’s Aled Bayley was dismissed for a second yellow card with 89 gone.
