North Wales Coast West Division One: Holyhead Town hit summit, first win for Glantraeth, Rovers pounce late

NORTH WALES COAST WEST DIVISION ONE REPORTS – SEPTEMBER 26

Holyhead Town 3 CPD Llanerchymedd 0

Holyhead hit top spot in Division One and stretched their 100% record to four matches with a fine win over Llanerchymedd at Millbank.
Playing against the wind in the first half, Town started brightly. Craig Moore saw an early chance blocked, before Mike Edwards had an effort saved by Harri Owen.
The Harbourmen played good football despite the windy conditions, though Llanerchymedd always looked a threat on the break.
Town continued to push for an opener. Adam Morris met a Kane Astles corner, only to see his header thunder back off the crossbar.
As the half drew to a close, Holyhead finally broke the deadlock. A clever through ball from Astles found Moore, who fired through a crowd of defenders to make it 1-0.
The hosts got the second half underway with the wind at their backs and picked up right where they left off.
With Llanerchymedd remaining tough to break down, Town forced another corner. Astles’ delivery found Eric Leach, whose shot looked to have crossed the line. Although a goal wasn’t awarded, Moore made no mistake with the rebound to double his tally and make it 2-0.
Town then refreshed the side, bringing on returning players Lewis Heywood and Charlie Diamond, along with Tony Meyer and Matty Rowlands. The changes paid off as Town again profited from a set-piece: Mike Edwards showed his class by curling a corner direct into the net to make it 3-0.
In the closing stages, goalkeeper Steff Parry made a crucial late save to preserve the clean sheet.

Amlwch Town 0 Llanfairpwll 5

Seventeen-year-old Llion Jones scored twice as Llanfairpwll romped to a big win at Lon Bach.
Dan Burns, Jake Turnbull and Ashley Davies also found the target for the visitors in an emphatic victory.

Bethesda Rovers 2 Llangoed & District 1

Two late goals earned Rovers the points at Treborth Playing Fields.
Dylan Jones put Llangoed ahead in the fifth minute and it was a lead they held all the way till the 86th when Leon Owen equalised from a Jordan Pritchard assist.
Then, six minutes into added time, Kieran Williams delivered the decider, Rhydian Owens this time the supplier.
Charlie McKenna was red-carded for the visitors eight minutes past the 90.

CPD Deiniolen 4 Caergybi 3

Dafydd Jones (2), Camoern Nisbet and Ethan Kiernan shared the goals as Deiniolen edged a thriller versus Caergybi, Aiden Davies (2) and Elliot Patterson replying.

Glantraeth 2 CPD Pentraeth 1

Glantraeth celebrated a first win since their return to local football.
Former Gwalchmai player-manager Craig Evans, back with his former club, scored Glan’s first on 31 minutes before Sam Hallas provided the winner on 74.
Charlie Dales had earlier given Pentraeth a sixth-minute lead.
