Ruabon Rovers 3 (Joe Stephenson 10, Dan Kebell 74, Conner Kendrick 82)
FC Queen’s Park 7 (Tom Freeman 4, Michael Latham 26, 58, Nicky Williams 66, Ethan Simpson 79, 83, Jordan Williams 85)

Eighteen straight wins and four points clear at the top of Division 1 – things continue to flourish for Queen’s Park.

On Saturday, the Wrexham side slammed seven past bottom team Ruabon at The Recreation Ground.

In a close first half, the Park led just 2-1 at the break, Tom Freeman and Mike Latham both on target for the visitors, Ethan Simpson with a pair of assists, while Joe Stephenson replied for Rovers.

The score remained unchanged until just before the hour when Latham notched his 28th goal of the season, Freeman this time supplying the chance.

Nicky Williams’ 20th of the campaign made it 4-1 on 66, but Dan Kebell soon responded to give the hosts some hope.

Simpson stretched the away lead to 5-2, Conner Kendrick hit back for the home side, but a couple of quick strikes from Simpson and Jordan Williams put the Park out of sight. Corey Smart provided two late assists and Latham added an A to his two G’s.

NORTH EAST WALES LEAGUE ROUND-UP AND RESULTS WITH SHAUN BEST

When Saturday comes, we all know Harry Massey is going to score – the question is how many?

This week, the hotshot rattled in another four-goal haul to make it 44 for the season as Overton Recreation eased into the semi finals of the NEWFA Trophy.

Another Harry also deserves top billing, as Llay’s Harry Roberts matched namesake Massey’s efforts by netting four of his own en route to Welly’s second string booking a place in the Reserve League Cup final.

The top two in Division One picked up emphatic victories on the road. Broughton United came from behind, netting four without reply in a dominant second half performance. Meanwhile, Queen’s Park’s Michael Latham consolidated his lead at the top of the scoring charts with another brace. Hawarden Rangers will still have an eye on securing a top two finish, although their hopes suffered a blow after dropping two points late on.

Elsewhere, basement side Cefn Druids were soundly beaten at CPD Sychdyn United, with the Mold outfit strengthening their grip at the top of Division Two and extending their lead to five points.

Over in Reserve Division One, results went the way of table toppers Mynydd Isa Reserves who didn’t have a game today. Connah’s Quay’s defeat coupled with Penycae’s heavy victory now ties both teams in second place.

Many a double barrelled name got on the scoresheet at the Memorial Playing Fields, as Ruthin Town Colts went joint third in the table after their thumping victory.
