Exciting times for tier 4 club Talysarn Celts with four new faces recently announced – three players and a coach.

Tomi Llywelyn, Jake Calley-Thomas, Morgan Roberts and Tyler Jones have all joined the North Wales Coast West Premier Division mid-table side.

THE COACH – TOMI LLYWELYN

Llywelyn, 21, arrives from Cymru North club Holyhead Hotspur. He has not played since July, having picked up a bad injury at the start of the current season. Llywelyn is taking a break from playing to test his coaching skills at Talysarn.

In the 2024-25 campaign, Llywelyn was part of the Hotspur squad which won promotion from Ardal North West via a play-off, scoring nine goals in 23 appearances.

The previous season he was with CPD Y Felinheli, featuring in 13 matches, and before that spent 2021-22 and 2022-23 at Llanrug United, netting 17 goals in 57 first team outings.

As a junior, he was part of a strong Caernarfon Town Under-16 squad. He is currently also a coach for the Gwynedd Schools Under-14s.

THE PLAYERS

Calley-Thomas, 28, is an experienced midfielder best known for his long service with Llanrug United.

He has had two spells at Eithin Duon, wearing red and white between 2019-20 and 2021-22 and January 2023 to November 2025, making 138 first team appearances in total and also representing the Development side numerous times.

Calley-Thomas had a stint at Bontnewydd in 2022-23, scoring four goals in 16 first team games, including a hat-trick against Arriva Bangor.

Roberts, 37, is a strong and experienced attacking player who lands at Gloddfa Glai from CPD Llanberis.

Good on the ball and with a lethal left foot, he certainly knows where the goal is.

Roberts will bring a new dimension to the Celts forward line.

Jones, 18, is a promising young goalkeeper who leaves CPD Llannerchymedd to join Talysarn.

He has also turned out for Anglesey sides Gwalchmai and Llangefni Town, having developed his talents with Gaerwen U16/U17s.

Jones made 12 appearances for Cefni in 2023-24 before moving on to Gwalchmai, where he played in 33 games and featured eight times for Llannerchymedd this season prior to switching to Celts.
