On Sunday, Felinheli fought back from 2-0 down to gain a 2-2 draw. On Wednesday night it was the opposite, Felin going two-up only to be pegged back for a share of the points by CPDM Bangor.

Felin came out strong in the first half, starting quickly with plenty of intention.

Two great goals resulted from Jordanne Greenough within the first 15 minutes. One came from a Llywela Edwards corner – a great header finding the back of the net – and the second followed a fantastic through ball from Fflur Williams – Greenough initially staying up after a corner.

Felin went clear again from great work by Ellie Jones on the left wing, slotting the ball through to Shannon Jones who found the back of the net, but the scorer was ruled offside.

After this, the momentum swung and Bangor came fighting back, playing some very tidy football. This pushed Felin back and the hosts scored two great goals from long range.

The first came from a Ffion Thomas left-foot effort and the other wonderful strike from Menna Evans – a goal the whole crowd, including the Felinheli supporters and bench, could appreciate.

Felin came back fighting in the second half, pushing Bangor back and having plenty of possession. The tempo increased a little with the introduction of Rubie Davies and the much-awaited return of Katie Houghton and the ever-dependable Catrin Evans.

Although gaining plenty of chances from set pieces, Felin failed to find the back of the net. Felin were awarded a penalty in the last 10 minutes but Edwards’ shot was saved well by Bangor keeper Catrin Roberts.

Stand-in Felinheli manager and regular coach Llio Emyr said: “Overall, I’m happy again with the performance tonight but disappointed not to take 3 points as set out to do.

“However a 2-2 scoreline was probably a fair result in the end. I must praise the return of Katie Houghton after a long knee injury and of course we are glad to have Catrin Evans back with us.

Both will be important to this second part of the season. Great to see the young Lauren Watts making her debut for Felin also. I’m sure she will work her way to gain more minutes in the near future.”
