In DIVISION 1 of the Cynghrair Pêl-rwyd Hogan Gwynedd a Môn Netball League, champions Menai Mavericks hold top spot over the 2025 Christmas period.
Mavericks defeated Pwllheli Panthers 37-18 in the final set of matches before the festive season on December 17. The Anglesey side now hold a four-point lead at the summit.
Menai led 8-6 after the opener, 16-10 at half time, and then pulled clear in the third and fourth quarters.
Second-place Tim o Walis outscored Genod Walis 30-21. Tim o Walis took the first 10-4, but Genod fought back well to edge the second 6-5.
ToW then won the last two sessions 7-4 and 8-7 to secure the victory.
Luned Owen was a standout player for Genod Walis.
Arfon Ladies overcame Bethesda 31-17, although Pesda did well to take the second quarter 6-3.
Nerys Jones won special praise for her performance for the Ogwen team.
Dreigiau’r Dyffryn took the honours 20-13 against Primos.
Dyffryn led throughout, although the Penygroes side edged the last 4-3.
In DIVISION 2, Thunderbirds are narrow leaders by two points from Holyhead Hawks.
Anna Sellick was in fantastic form in Thunderbirds’ 26-14 victory against Walis Wariars. Thunderbirds winning the opener 11-3 proved decisive, as the other three quarters were very close.
Holyhead Hawks comfortably beat bottom side Silyn Aur 36-7, the Holy Islanders scoring 10 goals in each of two quarters and eight apiece in the other two.
Blaenau Ffestiniog trailed Thunderjags 11-12 at half time, but launched a mighty comeback to eventually win 31-16, scoring 12 goals in the closer.
Fourth-place Blaenau leapfrogged their opponents with this result. Nel Williams was exceptional for Thunderjags.
