Kien Morris was a hat-trick hero as Albion advanced to the Ardal Northern League Cup quarter-finals after a hard earned 3–1 win over Lex XI at The MUGA.
Morris scored the only goal of the first half on 13 minutes, Alex Williams with the assist.
In first half added time, Cefn coach Tom Evans was shown a red card.
Lex, who had already caused one upset in the competition by knocking out Dolgellau away, suggested they might be on for a repeat when George Baxter equalised nine minutes into the second half.
Three minutes later, however, Albion were back in front through Morris, Owen Evans this time the chance supplier.
Cefn could not start to think about relaxing until the 81st minute, when Morris completed his treble and made it five goals for the season, his previous two also coming in this competition at home to Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant back in September.
Conditions were difficult throughout, but Albion showed good control and patience, managing the game well from start to finish.
Morris was the difference on the day, producing a clinical hat trick to put the tie beyond doubt.
A disciplined performance ensured the hosts got the job done and continued their cup run.
