Tigers moved to within a point of leaders Nantlle Vale having played a game more following Friday’s triumph over visitors Talysarn.

After a blank first half, the deadlock was broken just a minute following the restart when Josh Williams scored an own goal.

The island hosts doubled their advantage on 73 minutes when Jamie McDaid struck his 20th goal of the season, John Littlemore assisting.

The league now takes a break until early January.

Cefn Albion 3 Lex XI 1

Hat-trick star Kien Morris made all the difference as Cefn Albion advanced to the League Cup quarter-finals with a hard-earned success over Lex.

Conditions were difficult throughout at The MUGA, but Albion showed good control and patience, managing the game well from start to finish.

Morris produced a clinical treble to put the tie beyond doubt. scoring after 13, 57 and 81 minutes..

A disciplined performance ensured Cefn got the job done and continued their cup run.

Ardal North East bottom side Lex put up a strong show and pulled level at one stage when George Baxter found the net on 54 minutes, Oliver Doughty with the assist.

Cefn had coach Tom Evans red-carded close to half time.
