Experienced goalkeeper Ryan Woods has added strength to Kinmel Bay’s squad by joining the tier 4 North Wales Coast East League Premier Division club.
Woods, 35, has spent the last few seasons operating in Wales’ top three tiers, including stints in Cymru Premier.
In the first two decades of the 2000s, the commanding glovesman enjoyed success with clubs such as Abergele and Conwy Borough.
The 2019-20 season saw Woods feature in the Prestatyn Town squad which won the JD Cymru North title, as well as having a brief stint at Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant.
He then joined Flint Town United, who were promoted to the Cymru Premier despite finishing second in the Cymru North behind Prestatyn. The Seasiders failed to meet the necessary criteria for Tier 1, but the Silkmen were more successful.
Only the Cymru Premier operated in Wales in 2020-21 due to the worldwide pandemic and Woods made a couple of appearances in that campaign for the Flintshire club.
The following season he featured in 17 Cymru Premier matches for Flint, who finished up in fifth place.
In 2022-23, Woods returned to the Cymru North, signing for Colwyn Bay, where he made 14 appearances for the league champions.
By February of that season, Woods had moved on Caernarfon Town of the CPL, playing four times before the end of the campaign.
He remained at The Oval for the early part of 2023-24, making two appearances before in October 2023, he switched allegiences to CPD Y Rhyl 1879 of the Tier 3 Ardal North West.
Woods played 21 times for the Lilywhites, who ended up in third place.
Last season brought a move to Cymru North club Holywell Town, where he was involved in another 12 games before his final outing at the start of 2025.
Woods now joins a Kinmel Bay squad determined to push for the East Premier title this term.
Joint-manager Leon Field explained that Woods will not be available each week and will mainly be on call as cover for two top-class keepers already at the club in James Roberts and Ash Lavender.
