Kinmel Bay 0
Llangefni Town 3 (Brown 10, Lowe 32 & 64)

Dave Jones (yes, him) reports from Y Morfa

What was expected to be a close battle on Sunday actually saw Llangefni Town run out emphatic winners.

The Clash of the Titans at Y Morfa between two sides with 100 percent records ended in Cefni recording a fifth straight league success which puts them top of the table.

The Ynys Môn side could easily have tripled their score had they converted endless chances into goals, while at the other end their mean defence restricted Bay to very few opportunities.

Here are the match highlights…..

3 min: Kinmel Bay played a dangerously high line and Cefni’s pace saw their two main forwards Milly Lowe and Amber Brown through on goal many times. Lowe was first to threaten, but Shelby Wild produced a good stop.

5 min: Lowe was clear again and looked a cert to score, but drilled wide of the post.

7 min: So close….Lowe feeds the ball across the six-yard box and Brown sliding in narrowly fails to connect.

10 – GOAL: It was on the cards. AMBER BROWN gets in behind the defence again and finishes well for her 10th goal in 7 games. KINMEL BAY 0 LLANGEFNI TOWN 1

21 min: Lowe bursts through but Wild goes down well to deny her.

24 min: Wild saves twice in quick succession from Brown and Lowe.

32 min – GOAL: Nice passing between Lowri Thomas and Catrin Roberts frees MILLY LOWE who this time beats the keeper. KINMEL BAY 0 LLANGEFNI TOWN 2

38 min: First shot on target for Kinmel Bay. From the right side of the box Georgia Williams lets fly, but Katie Spruce keeps the ball out efficiently.

42 min: Better effort from Bay. Scarlett Gregson connects really well from about 25 yards, but Spruce does really well to palm the ball out for a corner.

45 min: Should be 3-0! Catrin Roberts crosses into the six-yard box but Lowe at full stretch volleys against the post.

HALF-TIME: KINMEL BAY 0 LLANGEFNI TOWN 2

Less chances in the second half, but the majority that did fall went to Cefni.

59 min: The outstanding Lowri Thomas’ low hit is held by Wild.

62 min: Gregson free kick on right drifts over the bar

Milly Lowe (nearest ball – pictured in previous match) was unstoppable for Llangefni at Kinmel Bay

64 min – GOAL: Contest all but over when MILLY LOWE is released on the left and her firm left-foot shot bulges the net. KINMEL BAY 0 LLANGEFNI TOWN 3

67 min: Lowe bursts into box, but Wild thwarts her this time

86 min: Lowe clean through, 1 on 1 with keeper, but slots wide

90 min: Lowe out of luck again as she hits the goal frame for a second time.

FULL-TIME: KINMEL BAY 0 LLANGEFNI TOWN 3

PLAYERS OF THE MATCH

Kinmel BayShelby Wild: without the goalkeeper’s heroics, the away goals total would have ended up considerably larger.

Llangefni Town – Milly Lowe: Two goals, hit the woodwork twice, tracked back brilliantly, amazing work-rate. Great all-round striker’s performance.
