NORTH WALES WOMEN’S RECREATIONAL LEAGUE: First victory for Kinmel Bay, Blues win Pen derby, Bees and Lionesses in cracking draw

NORTH WALES WOMEN’S RECREATIONAL LEAGUE REPORTS – OCTOBER 27, 2025

Conwy Borough 2 Kinmel Bay 4

A first win for Kinmel Bay’s recreational side – and they certainly had to work hard for it against strong opponents.
It was a night of fast-paced football, fierce challenges, and superb finishing as Kinmel Bay Ladies Recreational claimed a 4–2 away victory over a determined Conwy Borough FC Ladies side.
The match had everything — long-range rockets, crucial saves and end-to-end action right until the final whistle.
Both sides started brightly, pressing high and testing each other’s defences early on. The goalkeepers were called into action within minutes, with both producing fine saves to keep the score level.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 12th minute of the first third when Kerry Williams, making her debut for Kinmel Bay, unleashed an unstoppable rocket from the edge of the area. The strike, set up perfectly by Bex Gregson, thundered into the net to give Bay a deserved early lead.
Conwy Borough responded with determination, and their pressure soon paid off. Their number 4, Dannielle Such, equalised with a powerful effort that flew past Bay keeper Hannah Roberts to level the score at 1–1.
Moments later, Such nearly grabbed a second with a low drive, but Roberts was equal to it, making a smart save with her knee to deny the forward.
As the game continued to swing from end to end, it was Kinmel Bay who restored their advantage. Yasmin Mills stepped up to take a free-kick and struck it beautifully — the ball dipping and swerving over the wall before dropping just under the bar and beyond the Conwy keeper to make it 2–1 to Bay.
The momentum continued with both teams creating chances, but it was Bay who struck next. From a perfectly delivered corner, Jess Hall curled in a stunning in-swinger that flew straight into the net — a goal straight from the set piece to make it 3–1.
Just three minutes later, Kerry Williams capped off a dream debut performance. Picking up the ball on the flank, she drove forward, cut inside, and struck a fine effort that clipped the far post before bouncing into the net — her second of the night and Bay’s fourth.
Conwy refused to back down and continued to press forward. Their persistence was rewarded when Dannielle Such grabbed her second goal of the evening with a thunderous low strike that found the bottom corner, reducing the deficit to 4–2.
The match remained wide open right up to the final whistle, both sides showing spirit, fitness, and attacking intent in a fantastic advert for local women’s football.
