Two players from both Llangefni Town and Y Felinheli, plus a regular Llandudno hero, have made the Genero Adran Trophy Team of the Week.

Llangefni goalkeeper Katie Spruce and striker Amber Brown were in the elite 11 chosen for their outstanding performances at the weekend.

Both girls starred in Cefni’s 4-1 victory over Tier 2 side Flint Town United in Group 4.

Although Tier 3 Llangefni did not qualify for the last 16, they did Ynys Môn proud with excellent displays against Adran North clubs Llanfair United, CPDM Bangor and Flint in the group stage.

Dan Gregg’s side were late entrants to the competition, replacing CPD Y Rhyl 1879, who folded before the season began.

Spruce is one of North Wales’ most consistent shot-stoppers, while teenage sensation Brown has scored eight goals in her last four games. She converted a penalty in Sunday’s clash at Cae Bob Parry.

Not surprisingly, a pair of CPDM Y Felinheli players were also selected for the XI after their team’s superb 3-2 victory in Group 3 over Connah’s Quay Nomads.

Llywela Edwards

Hat-trick hero Llywela Edwards and impressive team-mate Elsi Williams starred for the Cae Seilo side, who recovered from 2-0 down to beat the Adran North champions, who missed out on a last 16 place while Felin advanced instead.

Llandudno ace Sofie Owen, whose team beat Berriew 3-1 to make it three wins out of three and secure top spot in Group 3, is also included in Team of the Week.

Owen, a two-time Adran North title winner with Tudno, is no stranger to being picked for ‘best of’ teams.

Her consistent defensive showings make her as vital a player for her club as she’s ever been.
