Three games, three straight wins for Hotspur by 8-0, 3-2 and 5-0 – a pretty good start to the season.
Sean Pritchard (2), Cameron Buckley, plus subs Myles Jones and Kane Astles scored a goal piece in the second-half sinking of Nantlle Vale at the New Stadium on Sunday.
Hotspur team manager Scott Hakesley talks us through the game….
“First week of the new season and our third game in seven days.
“On Sunday, we welcomed Nantlle Vale, a well-organised team who we expected to give us a tough contest. We wanted to finish the week with every player in the squad having game time.
“The game got underway and the wind played a massive part with ourselves struggling to get out of our half, but still creating one or two chances.
“The first 45 minutes played out as we expected and the lads did well to walk in with a clean sheet.
“Second half and formation change and we wanted to retain possession of the ball without forcing our play. I felt we controlled the second half with some lovely football played.
“We knew the goals would come and we started to open Nantlle Vale up.
“Goals arrived from a Cameron Buckley free kick, then some nice link up play with Myles Jones finishing off a great team move.
“Young Sean Pritchard, who led the line all day, bagged a quick double and then Kane Astles finished off the game to make it 5-0 to the home side.
“We’re really pleased with the first week together but so much to learn and improve on. MOTM went to Dan Mowbray – we felt he didn’t put a foot wrong when called upon.
“Special mention to 16 year old Louis Tatlock keeping a clean sheet today. We now train together and then travel to play Pentraeth on the 7th September. We’ve had great crowds for our first 3 games – thank you all.”
Good away win for Pentraeth scured by goals from Ryan Shaw and Caleb Efans, Jac Thompson with a penalty for Bont.
Philip Jones scored on 43 and 82 minutes to win the day for Trearddur, Caio Jones equalising for the Darans in between.
Captain Ywain Jones led the way for Llanrug with four goals in this massive home victory.
Josh Evans, Celt Moss and sub Guto Thomas added hat-tricks, Osian Neary a double and Cian Gibbard a single, Sion Williams with Llanfairpwll’s consolation.
Doubles from Luke Allaway, Deio Jones and Tristan Harrison (including 1 pen), plus a Noa Griffith strike made it seven heaven at Penrhiw for the Penwaig.
Cian Goodman-Shephard gave Pwllheli a 40th minute lead, but Anthony Williams rescued a point for Gaerwen with an equaliser on 56.
Sub Benn Lundstram notched a hat-trick for Phoenix, Charlie McIlvogue, Lewis Williams, Harrylee Birchall (pen) and Ben Hughes also on target, Thomas Bamber and Jason Edwards with the Blue Bridge replies.
Jacob Fraser (2), Bradley Williams, Daniel Roberts and Ronald Siby shared the goals for Borough Swifts that sank Y Glannau.
Three wins on the bounce for Bay, Jacob Jones and Ryan Roberts scoring two apiece, Dan Ward also on the mark.
Harry Payne, Ryan Lowe and Zak Williams all delivered doubles for Henllan, Sam Cotton and sub Oliver Young completing the rout.
Riley Cranham, Kaiden Gorry, Thomas Wardle, Soloman Moore and sub Kai Griffiths pocketed a goal each for winners Mochdre, Alex Garrett registering for the hosts.
Goals from Ewan Dunn, Jack Martins and Caiden Williams booked the points for visitors Llandudno, Connor Thomas the sole Saints scorer.
