CPD Gronant are back in football after a short break and are preparing well for the new season.
The club this week announced details of its new management and playing squad, which includes many familiar faces and some new.
Gronant will play in North East Wales League Division 3, with their opening fixture at home to Wrexham side Skippy due to take place on September 13.
Manager – Sandy Malone
Assistants – James Sweetman and Paul Fazackerley
Scotsman Malone, previously manager at Gronant but also a successful boss with the likes of Llandudno Amateurs and Llanfairfechan Town in the past, said: “Firstly, it has been quite a task. As many know, we’ve had other commitments that required our full attention before we could focus on playing again. But we’re excited to be back and looking forward to the season ahead.
“I want to sincerely thank all the players who have signed up so far for the upcoming season, especially in a short space of time.
“I have nothing but praise for them.
“As we grow and strengthen once again, we know it will take time. The good news is, time is something we have now.
“It won’t be easy going into a season without prior game time as a team, and without pre-season or training as of yet. This is something very new for me, James, Paul, and, of course, the lads. But we’ve set out to give it our all and, most importantly, enjoy the journey.
“It’s really important for me that we create good memories along the way again.
“We forget at Grassroots, the amount of time we dedicate to doing what we love can sometimes make us focus too much on pressure and stress, and we forget the enjoyment side of it. It’s up to us to find that joy, both on and off the pitch.
“We’ve made some alterations to our approach, which we hope will serve the team well. Beyond that, we’re just thrilled to be back in action and can’t wait to see what this season holds!”
