NORTH WALES CRICKET LEAGUE

DIVISION ONE

Dolgellau (3) 157-6 Mold (12) 158-7

A triumphant Connor Hughes and Chris Boulton of Mold leave the field

A 15th straight league win for leaders Mold, but this was one of the less comfortable victories on their magnificent run as they needed an unbeaten stand of 76 for the eighth wicket to see them home.
After winning the toss, the Flintshire side put Dolgellau into bat and restricted the opposition to 157-6 off 45 overs.
Jaco Oosthuizen (41), Lafras Van Vuuren (32) and Jack Williamson (31) were the main home contributors, Richard Crane claiming 3-19 off seven for the visitors.
In reply, Mold nosedived to a disastrous 42-6 and it looked like their successful streak was coming to an end.
However, Connor Hughes (40 not out), Chris Boulton (32 no) and Ian Noonan (26) turned the tide, leading the table-toppers to 158-7 off 41.1.
Hughes and Boulton were the key partnership, putting on that unbroken 76 after coming together at 82-7.
Van Vuuren returned remarkable figures of 5-13 off nine overs, but other members of the attack proved expensive and it cost Dolgellau dear.

Bangor 2nd XI (1) 197-8 Brymbo 2nd XI (14) 199-3

Connor Davies hit a match-winning 96 not out for a Brymbo seconds side which reached 199-3 in reply to Bangor seconds’ 197-8, Jamie Davies 43, Andy Williams 31, Gareth Edwards 30 not out, Adam De Rycke 3-49, Davies 2-24 and Jack Andrew 2-31 for the Steelmen.

Gresford (13) 125-4 Halkyn (2) 124-10

Cam Evans took 3-17, Sam Thompson 3-28 and Chris Ellwood 2-22 as Gresford bowled out Halkyn for just 124, the hosts responding with a winning 125-4, Wes Evans 44 and Matthew Thompson 41.

Llandudno (3) 124-10 Connah’s Quay (12) 150-8

Mali Auty (5-43) and Lee Davies (3-31) did most to ensure Connah’s Quay dismissed Llandudno for 124 in reply to the visitors’ 150, Morgan Duffy 58 and Joshua Clarke 49, Oliver Hughes 3-34 and Lucas Hughes 2-23 for the hosts.

Northop 2nd XI (0) 118-10 Hawarden Park (15) 119-0

Chris Brooks top-scored with 34 as Northop seconds were removed for 118, James Martin 3-19, Michael Wootton 3-29 and Evan Shaw 2-29 for Hawarden Park, who eased to 119 without loss in 30.2, Corey Cuffe 79 not out and Campbell Marr 33 no.

Pontblyddyn (11) 156-8 Mochdre 2nd XI (4) 155-9

Osian Jones took 3-16, Ioan Jones 3-17 and James Hughes 3-37 as Pontblyddyn limited visitors Mochdre seconds to 155-9, Zack Coverley 54 and Jon Davies 44 batting well for the away side.
Pont made it to 156-8 with three overs to spare to seal a two-wicket triumph, Gethin Thomas 40 and Osian Jones a crucial 25 not out down the order. Alex J Davies scooped 3-20 and Thomas Opie 2-27 for the visitors.
