Gwalchmai 2 Bethesda Athletic 1

Marc Evans’ stunning 92nd minute free kick delivered Gwalchmai a victory over table-topping Bethesda which put them within five points of the leaders with two games in hand.

Tuesday night’s clash of the tier 4 giants at Maes Meurig saw Gwalch make it 13 league matches without defeat, the result throwing the title race wide open.

Pesda took the lead five minutes into added time at the end of the first half when Cian Williams provided the assist and Scott Hughes the finish.

Nine minutes into the second half, it was 1-1 when substitute Asa Thomas set up Dion Jones to find the net.

It looked like the game would end all-square until Evans fired a 25-yard free kick soaring into the net for his 17th goal of the season which sent the home supporters wild.

These two title rivals will meet again at Bethesda next Wednesday (May 14).

CPD Nefyn United 3 CPD Mynydd Llandegai 1

Second-place Nefyn made it 20 league matches unbeaten with a home victory over Mynydd Llandegai on Tuesday evening.

The Penwaig edged ahead in just the second minute, Rhys Williams with the goal. Lewis Williams with the assist.

Noa Griffiths doubled the home lead on 56 minutes, Gethin Trenholme setting him up, but soon after experienced striker Jamie Whitmore pulled one back.

United did not make the game safe until the 94th minute, Jac Williams providing the assist for fellow sub Deio Gwilym to score.
