NORTH EAST WALES LEAGUE LATEST

REPORTS – TUESDAY, APRIL 15

Premier Division

CPD Gronant 0 Lex XI 10
A big win for Lex in their quest for promotion.
Kian Davies (4), Matthew Worrall (3), Cam Thomas (2) and Jonny Taylor shared the goals.
Although the Lawmen can still mathematically win the Premier title, their best bet for promotion appears to be through finishing runners-up.

Championship Division

Bellevue 0 CPD Sychdyn United 8
Four goals from Joe Mitchell helped guide Sychdyn to a big win which keeps them on course for a second place finish and promotion.
Joe Robins added a double and there was a goal apiece for Jordan Walker and Jack Mitchell (penalty).
Walker also assisted for five of the goals, while Jack Mitchell scored his first of the season.

CPD Yr Wyddgrug 0 Brymbo 1
After a poor run of results, Brymbo’s first team finally got the three points they deserve.
In a hard-fought 1-0 verdict, the only goal came from Matty Bithell.
The MW Car & Commercial Man of the Match was Matty Rees with a solid display at right-back.

REPORTS – SATURDAY, APRIL 12

Premier Division

Lex XI 1 Queens Park 2
Queen’s Park snatched a dramatic late win through an added time penalty from master marksman Mikey Latham.
Saturday’s top of the table clash saw Lex take a first-half lead through a free kick and it remained 1-0 at the break.
The Park came out flying in the second half. Corey Smart continued his goal-scoring form with a cool finish following a slick flick from Sam Molyneux.
Then, deep into stoppage time, Latham buried a penalty to seal the visitors a third win in four meetings with Lex this term.

Mynydd Isa 4 Greenfield 0
These are exciting times for Mynydd Isa.
A win on Saturday at home to Castell Alun Colts would secure them the league title, but they have already cemeted a top-two spot and a promotion place following last weekend’s victory over Greenfield.
Provided they attain a tier 3 licence, Isa will be on the rise for next season.
The win over Greenfield was banked courtesy of goals from Shaun Tinsley (2) and Nathan Mendoza (2), with keeper Elliot Quinlan saving a penalty.

Castell Alun Colts 0 Ruabon Rovers 2
Ethan Chard and Josh Hughes netted the goals which ensured Ruabon ended the season with two wins on the bounce and avoided bottom spot.

CPD Gronant 3 Penyffordd Lions 3
A late penalty earned Gronant a point.

Rhostyllen 2 Hawarden Rangers 1
Goals from Cole Bagnall and the prolific Liam Sklenar won the day for Rhostyllen.

Saltney Town 1 Coedpoeth United 1

Championship Division

Three second half goals saw Druids come from behind and take all three points at Ysgol y Grango.
Lee Price gave Cefn the dream start on five minutes but a late goal from Oliver Rathbone-Jones and a stoppage time Paddy Jones penalty saw Cei Connah ahead at the break.
Oliver Roberts’ 11th goal in 14 appearances drew Druids level nine minutes into the second period before James Williams’ 10th of the campaign fired them in front.
Mickey Bagnall rounded out the scoring four minutes from time.

Overton Recreational 4 Deeside Dragons 3
Alex Williams and Jim Roberts scored two goals apiece for an Overton side who were far from at their best and needed a 96th minute winner to clinch the points against spirited opponents.

Penyffordd Lions Reserves 0 Brymbo Reserves 5
