Congratulations to Lex – winners of the 2024-25 NEWFL Mike Beech Memorial Reserve Cup.

Sunday’s final at Brymbo Sports and Social Complex saw two of the Wrexham area’s most historic and successful clubs in opposition.

Rhos had lost just once in 17 matches since last August, but met their match in a determined Law side.

Lex edged ahead in the ninth minute with a superb finish from top-scorer Michael Parry, Phil Stott with the assist.

Chairman Stott himself added the second after 19 following great work from Morgan Bagnall.

Parry’s 22nd goal of the season, Stott again the chance supplier, made it 3-0 to the Lawmen on 36 minutes.

Rhos gave themselves hope when Lee Hanmer pulled a goal back three minutes into first half added time.

A wonder strike from Alex Sheriff in the 71st minute secured the cip for Lex.

Lex XI said after the game: “Fantastic achievement and great work from all the committed players this season and the management of Chris Hewitt, Tom Tinsley and George Baxter.”
