Earlier in the season, we chose 12 players to watch in North Wales senior football during 2024-25.

Here we are in April. Let’s do a progress check on our selections…..

Richard Hillier-Evans (Rhos United)

What a season for the Pink Panther!
Has kept 14 clean sheets in 21 league games and conceded a miserly 11 goals in total as Rhos have romped to the North Wales Coast East Division One title with an unbeaten record.
Not only that, he has also scored a goal via a kick-out from his own penalty box!
Hopes to become a double winner when Rhos compete in the REM Jones Cup final this month.

James Stevens (CPD Y Rhyl 1879)

Has featured in 27 games for the Lilywhites this season, but restricted to substitute appearances since Paul Moore became manager last November.
Right-sided wing-back who possesses plenty of talent, but 1879 fans are still to see the best of him. Age is on his side.

Mason Blackwell-Jones (Bangor 1876)

While Bangor 1876 have struggled of late, Mason has remained a hard-working and vital member of the side.
Has made 32 appearances for the fan-owned club, scoring nine times.
News is awaited on injuries he picked up in Saturday’s defeat at Mold.

Jenson Wold (Bow FC)

With 24 club appearances and seven goals so far this season, 18-year-old Jenson continues to show plenty of promise.
Most of his involvement has been with the Development side, but he has also played a few games for the first team, who have had a tough debut campaign in tier 4.

Jacob Jones (Kinmel Bay)

Brilliant season for this 19-year-old net-finder who has bagged 33 goals in 33 club appearances during 2024-25.
Has notched a brilliant 24 goals in 13 league outings for the Development side, but is now truly making his mark with the first team in tier 4,

Pascal Gomez (Connah’s Quay Town)

Connah’s Quay Town got off to a flyer in their debut tier 3 season, went off the boil for a while, but have now started firing once more.
One of their key players has been Gomez, a 22-year-old originally from Gambia, who has chalked up 13 goals in 33 matches across all competitions.
He is Town’s top scorer in Ardal North West with 10 goals.

Andy Vale (Brickfield Rangers)

One of the stars of the season in Ardal North East, his 17 goals making him joint-seventh highest marksman in the league list.
With 28 goals in 33 outings throughout all competitions for Brickfield, Vale is key in the club’s quest for the league title.

Elis Williams (CPD Y Felinheli)

Eighteen-year-old Elis has a highly impressive return of 15 goals in 22 appearances on his CV for Felinheli this season.
After a flying start to the campaign, he has mainly featured as a substitute since the turn of the year. So much to come from him.

Owen Herbert (NFA)

For evidence of how well this 18-year-old’s season has gone, check out NFA’s superb record since they joined tier 3 Ardal North West – and then assess Owen’s stats too!
The Rhyl club have been in the higher reaches of the league from the start and a vital cog in the wheel has been ever-present attacking midfielder Owen, who has made 31 first team appearances and scored three goals.

Ryan Jakovlevs (FC Queen’s Park)

Eighteen-year-old hot prospect joined FC Queen’s Park from disbanded Plas Madoc in November and has scored eight goals in 10 appearances for his new club.
Former Cefn United youth star Ryan bagged a magnificent 26 goals in 15 outings for Plas in their 2023-24 North East Wales League Championship Division title-winning season.
He is now a key figure in the Park’s superb run of 11 games unbeaten which has put them in the hunt for end-of-season silverware.

Noa Hughes (Bethesda Athletic)

Sadly out injured since January and is awaiting knee surgery.
Even having missed half the season, Noa has been a major success with 26 goals in 23 appearances for Bethesda.
Aged just 19, he has notched 53 goals in 115 matches for Pesda, who are major contenders for the North Wales Coast West Premier Division title.

Calum Thomas (CPD Gaerwen)

Joint top marksman in North Wales Coast West Division One with 15 goals in as many appearances.
Tremendous 17-year-old talent has pocketed 21 goals in 23 games across league and cups for Gaerwen.
One of so many young dynamos flourishing on the isle of Anglesey at present.
