REPORTS – TUESDAY, MARCH 25

JD CYMRU NORTH

Buckley Town 2 Caersws 4

Caersws delivered themselves a massive boost in their quest for survival while also heaping the pressure on fellow relegation candidates Bangor 1876 and Ruthin Town.

After eight games without a win, the Bluebirds completed back-to-back victories on Tuesday at the expense of a Buckley outfit who have lost four of their last five.

Ashley Harries and Max McLaughlin put the visitors two-up within the first 11 minutes, but a pair of goals close apart in the second half from Scott McHarrie and Bradley Knight put the Bucks back on terms.

However, Rhys Hesden proved the perfect headline grabber for the Powys men, netting on 75 and 84 to clinch a priceless away win.

Holywell Town 0 Colwyn Bay 2

Leaders Bay nudged four points clear of second-place Airbus having played a game more after a hard-fought 2-0 victory at the Bartons North Wales Stadium.

An attendance of 442 watched this season’s potential champions take on last term’s title winners.

Dan Atkins broke the deadlock on 44 minutes from an assist by Jamie Cumming, who added a decisive second just past the 90, James Owen setting him up.

Penrhyncoch 6 Flint Mountain 1

Ruthless from Penrhyncoch who look well set for a top-half finish.

Dion Phillips (2), Elliot Jones, Dan Owen, Zac Davies and Owain Evans shared the goals for the rampant Roosters, Christoph Azimale replying for Mountain, who have lost three in a row, but have a chance of instant revenge when they host Penrhyn on Saturday.

NEWFA MEN’S SENIOR CHALLENGE CUP QUARTER-FINAL

Flint Town United 0 Mold Alexandra 3

Mold advanced to the semi-finals with an away victory over a very young Flint side whose main aim as a club remains Cymru Premier survival.

Owen Cordiner (2) and Rhys Edwards bagged the goals for the Cymru North visitors.

NORTH EAST WALES LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

Rhydymwyn 4 CPD Yr Wyddgrug 1

Second-place Rhydymwyn – 13 points behind leaders Broughton United but with five games in hand – kept the table-toppers on their radar with a 4-1 success against local rivals Yr Wyddgrug.

Ryan Carrington’s goal gave Rhyd a half-time lead, then after the break Alistair Gibson, Rhys Parry and Karl Bacon also found the mark, Leon Sumner with a consolation for the away side.
