Lly-well-a well-a well-a ooh! Tell us more, tell us more, did you see that girl score? tell us more, tell us more, did you see that ball soar?

GENERO ADRAN NORTH – MARCH 9

CPDM Y Felinheli 2 Llandudno 2

Llywela Edwards scored a cast-iron North Wales women’s football goal of the season contender with her long-range rocket which earned a point for Felinheli.

With the hosts trailing 2-1 at half time on Sunday, Edwards connected with an absolute screamer from 20 yards or more just past the hour to make it two-apiece.

Felinheli cameraman Pat Cain was there behind the goal to catch the wonder strike in full splendour.

The result kept Felin well on course for a third-place finish in Genero Adran North, Connah’s Quay Nomads having clinched the title at the weekend with Llanfair United’s victory assuring them of runners-up.

Deposed champions Tudno struck twice in the first 10 minutes through Kelsey Davies, who made it 14 goals for the season.

Felin replied on 23 when Hana Wellings delivered from midfield to Jenna Tugwell-Allsup, who worked the ball nicely onto her left foot before applying a smart curling finish for her sixth goal of the campaign.

Edwards’ 64th minute stunner made it eight goals this season for one of Felinheli’s major pluses during 2024-25.

That was the end of the scoring, Felin making it eight matches unbeaten, while Tudno are without a win in six.

Felinheli are due to visit Rhyl 1879 this Sunday.

CPDM Bangor 0 Llanfair United 4

Llanfair sealed second-place after making it four wins in a row.

The Powys side made it a comfortable double over a Bangor outfit they beat 5-0 at home last month.

Sunday’s fixture saw Bangor at their best in the first half, trailing just 1-0 at the break to a Millie Evans goal.

There was no further score until the 82nd minute, when Mary Griffiths doubled the away lead, Emma Williams and Harriet Davies adding further goals before the end.
