NORTH EAST WALES LEAGUE CATCH-UP

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1

Premier Division

Coedpoeth United 2-4 Queens Park
Four first half goals set up the Park for a comfortable away win.
Having knocked Coedpoeth out of the Horace Wynne Cup seven days earlier, Malcolm Wareham’s side completed a quick double over their Wrexham area rivals.
Sam Molyneux, Corey Smart, Nicky Williams and Jake Harper all struck to put the visitors four-up by half time.
Adam Lloyd and Ben Griffiths grabbed consolations in the second half for Coedy.

Hawarden Rangers 0-4 Mynydd Isa
Leaders Mynydd Isa went four points clear thanks to goals from Nathan Mendoza, Sam Wainwright, Shaun Tinsley and Kieran Jones sealing an emphatic win at Gladstone.

Rhostyllen 9-1 Gronant
Tom Douglas struck four times, once from the penalty spot, as Rhostyllen dished out a home thrashing.
Steven Jones added a double, Lewis Bickerton Cole, Liam Sklenar and Adam Williams one each, Gary Fazackerley converting from the spot for Gronant.

Ruabon Rovers 1-2 Penyffordd Lions
First-half strikes from Owen Edwards and Matthew Holmes clinched the points for Lions, Kyle Evans replying early in the second half.

Saltney Town 1-1 Greenfield
Rowan Burdsall’s fifth minute goal handed the Bordermen an early lead, but Bailey Roberts’ equaliser close to half time meant it ended 1-1.

Championship Division

Bellevue 2-12 Acton FC
Niall Challoner (4), Sean Price (2), Liam Davies (2) plus one each from Ashley Ryan, Thomas Edwards, Alix Godfrey and sub Dale Williams combined to net a dozen for Acton, Jordan Boyd and Diogo Szabo hitting back for Bellevue.

Cei Connah 2-4 Cefn Druids
Oliver Williams (2), Josh Williams and sub Jordan Rubens supplied the goals which won the day for Druids, Paddy Sam Jones and Charlie McDonald on the mark for CC.

Deeside United 0-8 Sychdyn United
Ross Walker (2), Thomas Mitchell (2), Harry Mitchell, Linden Puckey, Liam Edwards and Jordan Walker shared the goals for the visitors.

Holywell United 1-4 Broughton United
Jayden Evans (2), Jake Jones and Ryan Pearce split the goals for victorious Broughton, Rhys Powell responding.

Overton Recreational 3-2 Aston Park Rangers
Matthew Tombs (2) and Alex Williams came up with the goals which won the day for Overton, Adam Randles and William Weaver keeping Aston in the hunt.

Skippy 2-10 Yr Wyddgrug
Lewis James (4), Henry Jones (3), Keiran Farr, Alun Wilson and a Jason Ratcliffe own goal made up double figures for the victorious visitors, Daniel Bolton and Callum Edwards on taget for the hosts.

Mike Beech Memorial Trophy quarter-finals

Mynydd Isa Reserves 2-2 Llangollen Town Reserves (Isa won 4-3 on penalties)
Mynydd twice trailed in this cup tie but managed to fight back on each occasion and won the match on a penalty shoot out.
Iwan Hardy and Whalen Mwebe put Llangollen 1-0 and 2-1 up, but George Davies pulled one back for Isa before Ollver Howarth forced pens by converting a 93rd minute spot kick.

CPD Rhos Aelwyd Reserves 3-0 Connah’s Quay Town XI
Carwyn Davies produced a hat-trick to send Rhos Aelwyd into the last four.

NEWFL Reserve Division Group A

Ruthin Town Colts 2-4 Brickfield Rangers Res
Jack Hanley, Cameron James, Jardel Tavares Dias Da Mota and Jay Richardson all made the scoresheet for winners Brickfield, Seth Evans and Jayden Ball responding for Ruthin.

Corwen Reserves 2-0 Saltney Town Reserves
Lewis Wills and Steffan Lloyd pocketed a goal apiece to seal a Corwen victory.

NEWFL Reserve Division Group B

Greenfield Reserves 5-3 Johnstown YFC Reserves
Corey Kennedy (2, 1 pen), captain Jack Gilmore and sub Bobby Alderson were among the scorers for winning hosts Greenfield, Hari Little (2) and Joshua Lloyd (pen) keeping Johnstown in the hunt.
