JD CYMRU NORTH REPORTS AND TABLE – JANUARY 24, 2025

Flint Mountain 1-5 Colwyn Bay

Jamie Cumming netted a hat-trick as Colwyn Bay made it 16 straight league wins with a 5-1 demolition job on hosts Flint Mountain.

The Seagulls moved back to within a point of leaders Airbus UK Broughton, who have played a game less and visit champions Holywell Town tomorrow.

Bay found themselves a goal down in the first minute when Mike Hayes ran through and although his first effort was saved by Rhys Williams, he scored from the rebound to make it 12 league goals this season.

Parity was restored two minutes later when Cumming equalised with a header from a corner.

Craig Lindfield then put a header inches wide from a right wing cross and Ethan Roberts missed a big chance to get his first goal of the campaign when he shot straight at Flint keeper Reece Thompson.

Cumming put Bay 2-1 up right on half-time when he turned well and drove into the box before placing his shot into the bottom corner.

Flint pressed for a while at the start of the second half with Rhys Williams making a good save to prevent an equaliser, before the Seagulls went 3-1 up when Ethan Roberts was fouled in the area and Cumming stepped up to score from the spot to complete his first hat-trick for the club.

Second half substitutes Josh Carey and Lloyd Marsh-Hughes then combined to extend Bay’s lead. Marsh-Hughes netted with a header from Carey’s excellent cross on 86 minutes. Then Carey swept home a fifth from 12 yards two minutes later.
