Earlier in the season, we chose 15 players to watch in North Wales senior women’s football during 2024-25.

Let’s check on our selections…..

1 Taylia Chaloner (Flint Town United)

Taylia (stripes) in action for Flint against Connah’s Quay Nomads

Has played in all 10 matches for Flint this season and is edging towards 50 club appearances.

Right-sided defender has been a colossal figure in the Silkwomen’s encouraging start to a new campaign at a higher level.

Such is her consistency, Taylia is a contender for player of the match almost every week.

2 Rosie O’Brien (CPD Y Rhyl 1879)

Attacking left-back has played in eight of Rhyl 1879’s 10 matches to date.

The Lilywhites are showing plenty of improvement of late after a difficult start to the campaign and Rosie will have a major part to play in 2025.

3 Natasha Spearing (Connah’s Quay Nomads)

Summer signing from Wrexham has featured in all 12 of Nomads’ matches this term.

The Deesiders have won 10 of those games and are top of Genero Adran North with a 100 percent record. Natasha has more than played her part in these early season successes.

4 Beth Roberts (CPD Merched Henllan)

Has netted a ridiculous 27 goals in eight games so far this season – surely no-one could have envisaged this youngster making such an impact in the North Wales Women’s League.

Her feats so far have included a triple hat-trick and a seven-goal salvo in a single game.

Beth has banged in 22 goals in just five league matches for newcomers Henllan, current leaders of the East Division.

5 Laura Pratt (Airbus UK Broughton)

Another goal machine who has been flying in 2024-25.

Laura has netted 17 times in nine matches, a total which includes 13 goals in four league outings.

A highly promising young forward who showed great potential in tier 2 Genero Adran North last season looks a class above most in tier 3.

6 Catrin Roberts (CPDM Bangor)

Bangor’s defending is much improved this season and much of the credit must go to 16-year-old keeper Catrin Roberts, who has played in 10 matches for the Genero Adran North side so far.

Wales Under-16 international who represented the FAW Girls Academy North squad last season, Catrin has been selected for the 2025 Ynys Môn Island Games squad.

7 Ruby Hastings (Flint Town United)

Electric right-winger who at the age of 18 has adapted to tier 2 football like a duck to water.

Has netted four goals so far in nine matches, adding to her impressive tally in 2023-24.

Goals, assists, great passes, Ruby does it all.

8 Amy Chesters (Kinmel Bay)

Kinmel Bay’s Amy Chesters (mixed blue strip) is into double figures for goals

Shining brightly for a Kinmel Bay side continuing to make good progress.

Amy’s 10 goals have been spread over just four matches and include two hat-tricks, her latest in a 5-0 weekend tanning of Denbigh Town.

She has made eight appearances in all and is having her best season by far.

9 Llywela Edwards (CPDM Y Felinheli)

Great start to the campaign for a proven goalscorer who has netted six times in 10 matches for new club Felinheli.

Left-sided specialist Llywela is dynamic and pacy in attack, be it in laying on chances or taking them herself. Cracking summer signing by Aaron Jones-Evans.

10 Amber Brown (Llangefni Town)

After a fine start to the season for Caernarfon Town, Amber appeared on Llangefni Town’s team sheet for the first time last weekend and scored on her debut.

Has tremendous potential as an attacking player and she should blossom at Cae Bob Parry.

Just 17, Amber ended her spell at Caernarfon with two goals in a 5-0 whipping of Denbigh Town.

11 Jess Woods (Trearddur Bay)

Has scored in all three games played for Trearddur Bay this season.

She has not appeared since October 27, but Bay’s fixture list has been threadbare in recent weeks.

One of a group of great signings made by manager Ali Thomas.

12 Isabella Nardo (Northop Hall)

Seven appearances this season for a Northop Hall side still finding its feet in the North Wales Women’s League East Division.

13 Abi Cooke (Denbigh Town)

Young defender who has played in 10 matches so far for a Denbigh team seeking a return to form after four successive losses.

14 Annest Roberts (CPDM Llanystumdwy)

Seventeen-year-old developing into a fine player for a Llanystumdwy outfit which has improved beyond all recognition this season.

Annest has made nine appearances and has won high praise for the consistency of her performances.

15 Katie Spruce (Llangefni Town)

To win titles you need a good goalkeeper – and Llangefni have signed one of the best in sublime shot-stopper and one-on-one save specialist Katie.

She has played in 11 consecutive matches for Cefni and kept three clean sheets coupled with other outstanding displays.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY 2025 TO OUR FAB FIFTEEN – YOU ARE ALL AWESOME
