CYMRU PREMIER REPORTS – SEPTEMBER 27

Caernarfon Town 3 (Mendes 18, Thomas 45+1, Clarke 56)

Connah’s Quay Nomads 1 (Disney pen 83)

A fantastic first goal of the season from Caernarfon captain Darren Thomas was the highlight of a great home performance which saw the Cofis make it back-to-back league wins for the first time this term.

Meanwhile, Nomads’ erratic start under new manager Billy Paynter continued as the Welsh Cup holders and last season’s Cymru Premier runners-up have now gone five league games without victory.

The Cofis took an 18th minute lead at The Oval when a Kai Edwards tackle cut out a Zack Clarke pass towards Louis Lloyd, but Paulo Mendes pounced on the loose ball to drill home.

Clarke drove a cross perilously across the face of goal before the Canaries made it two in first half added time.

Thomas robbed John Disney and raced forward before firing a beautiful low shot into the left-hand corner of the net from 20 yards. Vintage Cofi Messi!

And Richard Davies’ side maintained their domination after the interval, going three-up in the 56th minute.

A cross from the left was flick-headed onto the post by Mendes, but Clarke was on alert to lash into the roof of the net.

Nomads pulled one back through an 83rd minute Disney penalty after keeper Stephen McMullan had felled substitute Ben Maher in the box.

In added time, McMullan was in the right place to collect a clever back-heel from Jack Kenny.

Attendance: 512

Flint Town United 0

Penybont 1 (Pritchard 71)

The Silkmen lost at home for the second time in four days as an Owen Pritchard goal on 71 minutes clinched the points for leaders Penybont.

Kane Owen missed a chance to make it 2-0 in the 92nd minute when he failed to convert a penalty, Jack Flint producing a save.

Flint created a couple of decent chances in the first half, but overall the most deserving team won, Penybont also striking the crossbar in the second period.

Briton Ferry Llansawel 2 (Alex Gammond pen 41, Jasper Payne 45+2)

Bala Town 2 (Ross White 3, Gammond OG 53)

Bala were unable to repeat their remarkable away win at The New Saints in midweek, but a point from a long trip away is better than nothing.

The draw edged the Lakesiders up to fourth.

Results – Friday, September 27

Barry Town United 1-0 Aberystwyth Town
Haverfordwest County 1-0 Cardiff Met University
Newtown 1-6 The New Saints
