Cynghrair Pêl Droed Ieuenctid Gwynedd secures league sponsor for 2024/25 season

Bangor City Stadium has been announced as the sponsor for the newly-formed Cynghrair Pêl Droed Ieuenctid Gwynedd – Gwynedd Junior Football League.

League chairman Chris Oneal broke the good news this evening.

Chris commented: “Setting up this new league has been challenging and our management committee has worked diligently to establish a robust structure for football that caters to all the young people of Gwynedd and some of our member clubs from Anglesey.

“We aim to provide football opportunities for over 3,000 young people. It has been a monumental task to reorganise two area leagues into one cohesive unit to ensure this happens.

“With the support of an outstanding management team we have also successfully secured a league sponsor for the upcoming season. We are pleased to announce that Bangor City Stadium will be our main sponsor for the season.

“We have observed the marvellous transformation that Bangor City Stadium is striving to achieve, and we look forward to collaborating with them to ensure the long-term delivery of football in the area.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to Nick Pritchard and his board for their generous sponsorship of our league. Diolch, Nick.”

Nick Pritchard

Nick Pritchard, chairman of Bangor City Stadium, said: “I’ve grown up in North Wales and when I got out the Army as a young man Bangor embraced me and gave me my foundation and a home.

“All my kids were born there and I always knew in my heart I would bring something back to it. Life when you get to a certain age is about giving back what life gave to you (CHANCES). I’ve been on a long and arduous journey doing two tours of Bosnia in the HM Forces and a nasty wake up call in the confines of Her Majesty’s Prison.

“I’ve seen many things people could only see in their nightmares. If I can change one kid’s life to not taking that same path I took I’ve done my job at the stadium, to support the Gwynedd Junior League is the least I could do to help it on its quest to keeping kids on the straight and narrow and In sport.

Mental health is a huge issue with our kids and we know sport has a huge impact on kids life’s and keeping them happy and healthy. To support you and what you do is a very proud moment for me. X”
