CPD Gaerwen had plenty to celebrate at their league’s annual awards.
Auctioneers striker Calum Thomas was named Division One Player of the Season at the annual general meeting of the North Wales Coast West Football League on Thursday.
Calum, 17, netted 21 times for the club over the campaign, 14 of his goals coming in Tier 5 Division One.
Football certainly runs in the family, as Calum is the grandson of Ynys Môn legend, the late, great Allan Jones (Ali). former colossus defender with Llangefni Town and Llanfairpwll, also ex-Glantraeth manager.
Gaerwen also picked up the Most Sporting Club/Fair Play Award, so plenty to smile about for the Anglesey braves.
One of the most popular awards on the evening went to Gwalchmai’s evergreen Will Williams, who was named Secretary of the Season.
Known as “Will Daddy”, Mr Williams is also “Mr Gwalchmai” – 50 years with the club which won the NWCFA Intermediate Cup last season.
