Liverpool Competition: Another pair of wins for red-hot Northop Hall

1ST XI SECOND DIVISION

Northop Hall 1st XI (20) 98-4 Norley Hall (2) 97-10

Nathan Roett and James Hurlin took 10 wickets between them as Northop Hall made it five league wins in six starts during June.

The Flintshire side won the toss on Saturday and put their opponents Norley Hall into bat at Smithy Lane.

The Wigan visitors were dismissed for just 97 in 37.5 overs, Roett claiming 6-46 off 19 – his finest figures for Hall and second best in North Wales cricket – and Hurlin 4-26 from 10.5.

In response, Northop Hall needed just 20 overs to reach a winning 98-4, completing a 20-2 points triumph.

Andrew Watkin made 33 and Alex Smith 31 not out.

Prestatyn (5) 68-4 Parkfield Liscard (5) 142-10 – abandoned

Adam Tidswell and Aarya Jadhav claimed four victims apiece as Prestatyn bowled out Parkfield for a modest 142 at Beach Close.

Put into bat, the Merseyside visitors were all back in the hutch after 48.3 overs, Jack Cheetham adding to the fine home bowling effort with 2-26.

The North Wales hosts were 68-4 in reply with an interesting finish in prospect when rain caused the match to be abandoned. Lucas Sheridan made 27.

Jason Edwards top-scored with 27 as Prestatyn seconds were blitzed out for a paltry 39 after being put into bat at Pembertons Meadow.

Parkfield eased to 40-2 in nine overs, Isaac Sheridan 2-11 for the visitors.
