North Wales football’s leading goalscorer in 2023-24 is to climb three levels this season.
Harrison Bellis has left North Wales Coast West Division One side CPD Y Glannau to join Denbigh Town of the JD Cymru North.
The 22-year-old joined Y Glannau from Rhyl All Stars in October 2021 and went on a stunning scoring spree.
Bellis scored 14 goals in 12 games for the club in 2021-22, struck 62 from 30 in 2022-23 and then last term netting an amazing 68 in 29 outings.
That made his grand total for Y Glannau 144 goals from 71 matches. In the past three seasons in entirety, including his time at Rhyl All Stars, the goals tally is 161.
Moving from Tier 5 to Tier 2 represents a major step up in class, but Denbigh Town are confident they have made a winning choice.
Manager Dewi Llion said: “Harrison is a talented young player who has clearly shown he knows where the back of the net is
“He’s now more than ready to take that big step up with us and test himself further in the JD Cymru North, it’s a new level for him but one we’ll equip him for ready to push on next season.
“He’s another young player who has good experience in senior football and fits the mould of the profile of player we’re looking to bring in”.
Bellis said: “I’m really pleased to sign for the club.
.
“This is an excellent opportunity for me to test myself at this level having had a lot of success over the last couple of years.
“Now is the time to keep working hard and to try and establish myself at a club that is clearly going places both on and off the pitch, I can’t wait to get going.”
