GOG Triathlon members shine at two top running events

The outstanding Simon Cole

GOG Triathlon runners produced some excellent performances in the final North Wales Cross Country League race held at Oswestry.

The Llandudno-based club had a fantastic turn out for the ladies and ‘gentlemen of a certain age’ race, with once again some outstanding displays in some very difficult conditions.

Competing in the men’s race were the duo of Simon Cole and Geran Hughes, both of whom put in a great effort on a cut up course.

As it was the last race, it was also the prize giving, and there were a number of age group podiums for club members.

Simon Cole winning the M40 category
Liz Evans winning the F70 category
Ann d’Albuquerque – 2nd F70
Vicky Cole – 2nd F40
Geran Hughes – 3rd M55
John d’Albuquerque – 3rd M75

GOG members shone again in the Nick Beer 10K road race, expertly organised once again by Always Aim high Events in conjunction with North Wales Road Running Club.

With over 20 club athletes taking part it would normally be hard to single out any individual, however Simon Cole’s outstanding effort takes pride of place.

With a time of 33.55, Simon took the overall win out of a stacked field of athletes.

Liz Evans leads the way

Liz Evans continued her triumphant ways with another win in the F70 category

Another podium place went to club member Paul Garstang, second in the M60 age group

All competing GOG members wore the club kit with pride.
