If Llanrug United Reserves win or draw their first match of 2024 when they visit Bontnewydd Development on January 7, it will be a whole year since the Eithin Duon team lost a game.
Iwan Lloyd’s side were beaten 3-0 at Bow FC Reserves on January 8, 2023, but have gone undefeated in 22 fixtures since.
Llanrug have won 16 and drawn six in that sequence, as well as winning the NWCFA Development League Cup in May.
United are currently top of NWCFA Development League West with seven wins and a draw, having amassed 40 goals and conceded just eight.
Reserves assistant-manager Keith Williams said: “We have gone through 2023 only losing one game and winning the League Cup.
“Hopefully on January 7th we can make it a whole year unbeaten.
“I know there aren’t as many games in the reserves league as other leagues, but it’s still a massive achievement for our young squad.”

Llanrug added to a long and proud club honours list when their reserves lifted the league cup at Lon Groes, Gaerwen, in May.
Having finished a very commendable third in the league, Iwan Machno Lloyd’s side wanted to go one better in the cup.
They came up against a St Asaph Reserves outfit aiming to add to the club’s silverware list this season, which included a stunning treble for the first team in tier 4.
Sam Griffiths produced an early goal for Llanrug, applying a fourth-minute finish from a Sion Evans assist.
Saints were soon back on terms when Jackson Brewerton scored in the fifth minute.
United edged back in front in the 34th minute when Sion Evans converted a penalty.
Llanrug took a big step towards lifting the trophy midway through the second half when Griffiths notched his second of the day and 15th goal of the season.
And Ywain Jones made extra sure of a United victory when he scored from the spot in the 74th minute.
