ARDAL NORTHERN REPORTS – SEPTEMBER 2

ARDAL NORTH WEST

Bethesda Athletic 5 Conwy Borough 8

An astonishing 13-goal encounter at Parc Meurig ended with the visitors victorious.

Conwy got off to a flyer, going 4-0 up through Ethan Hill, the outstanding Toby Jones and an Isaac Carey double before Pesda cut the arrears to two before the break, Joe Todd and Noa Hughes on target.

Osian Hughes reduced the lead to 4-3 with a goal in the 50th minute before Stevie Jones bagged a fifth for Boro after 54.

Todd struck again for Athletic, Hill made it 6-4, but then Osian Hughes trimmed the margin to a single goal again.

It was here that Conwy took command, Toby Jones netting twice in three minutes for his hat-trick.

Brickfield Rangers 2 St Asaph City 3

Saints are up to fifth in the table after edging the honours at Clywedog Park.

Alex Hall handed the visitors a 15th minute lead before Jay Richardson levelled near half time.

Josh Brown nudged Asaph back in front on 47 minutes, but when Andy Vale made it 2-2 after 84, a draw looked likely.

However, Alfie Vaughan scored in the 88th minute to bag three points for the visitors.

Llangefni Town 4 Pwllheli 2

Unbeaten Llangefni returned to top spot after making it six matches without defeat with a 4-2 triumph over Pwllheli at Cae Bob Parry.

Osian Jones opened the scoring for Cefni on 21 minutes but a Carl Jones penalty made it all-square before the turnaround.

In the 73rd minute Marcus Banks put Pwll 2-1 up and an upset was a possibility, but sub Cameron Jones soon equalised for the hosts.

Four minutes later, Cameron Jones put Llangefni 3-2 ahead and Matty Jones cemented the points with a fourth for the islanders seven minutes into added time.

Pwllheli had Jason Banks sent off for a second yellow in the 90 mark.

Nantlle Vale 2 Flint Mountain 2

What a fierce battle between this pair of high flyers which featured three red cards.

Ieuan Hewitt gave Mountain a 43rd minute goal advantage which the visitors held to half time.

Unfortunately for Hewitt he scored again six minutes into the second half – this time into the wrong net.

When Ashley Owen put Vale 2-1 up four minutes later, it looked like the Penygroes powerhouses could be on their way to another great win.

However, Kyle Smyth levelled with a 63rd minute penalty and that was the end of the scoring – but not the drama.

Flint’s Tom Ruffer was shown a second yellow on 66, Sion Jones suffered a similar fate for Nantlle after 83 and Mountain’s Frankie Antoine also received his marching orders for a pair of cautions with 89 on the clock.

Saltney Town 0 Llannefydd 2

Llannefydd completed a quick double over Saltney, the team they whipped 6-1 at home seven days earlier.

Saturday’s return saw goals from Morgan Jones and a Riley Hayden OG book the points for Gwyndaf Pritchard’s side, the Bordermen having George Davies red-carded on 82 before Sam Jones missed a 90th minute spot-kick for Llan.

Y Felinheli 1 Holyhead Hotspur 3

Two goals either side of half time from the unplayable Dylan Summers-Jones did most to ensure Hotspur took the away honours.

Aron Hughes-Jones netted first for the visitors on 36, before Summers-Jones struck on 45+1 and 48.

Iwan Owen hit back for Felinheli after 56, but that was as good as it got for the home side.

ARDAL NORTH EAST REPORTS

Builth Wells 2 Cefn Albion 1

Not a good day for North Wales sides in Ardal North East, typified by Albion’s defeat at Builth.

Adam Farmer and Lyndon Jones poached the goals that matters for the Bulls, Ryan Kehoe converting a penalty for the visitors.

Llandrindod Wells 2 Rhos Aelwyd 1

A first win of the season for Llandrindod over a Rhos side which suffered its first defeat.

After a goalless first half, Stuart Williams gave Wells a 52nd minute lead before sub Rob Nicholls added a second.

Declan Molyneux replied for Aelwyd before the closing stages featured three dismissals.

Thomas Smith and Steffan Edwards of Rhos were both shown red cards in the 88th minute, with Rhys Davies brandished with a second yellow for Llandrindod in added time.

Llanfair United 2 Dolgellau Athletic 2

Honours even at Mount Field, Karl Seliaerts and an 87th minute Harri Davies own goal making up the home total, Ioan Roberts and Paul Lewis netting for the visitors.

Llangollen Town 1 Radnor Valley 3

The newly-promoted Goats had to dig deep to earn all three points after going behind in the 20th minute when Jake Hayward raced through into the penalty area before composing himself to fire into the far corner of Otto Jones’ goal.

Radnor Valley were back on level terms six minutes before the interval, after pouncing on an error on the Llangollen defence, which allowed Taylor Wozencraft to find the back of the net after being set free by Jack Williams.

The visitors provided an improved performance following the interval and took the lead for the first time in the 61st when Charlie Beaumont was afforded the space to drive home a low 20 yard into the bottom corner of Ben Lloyd’s goal.

The Goats then doubled their advantage 15 minutes later when Wozencraft’s low 25 yard free-kick beat Lloyd, after travelling through a ruck of players inside the penalty area, to make the long journey home to New Radnor much more enjoyable.

Llanuwchllyn 3 Penrhyncoch 0

Tremendous outcome for Llanuwchllyn over previously unbeaten leaders Penrhyncoch.

Meilir Williams, Michael Pritchard and John Evans split the goals for Sion Tudor’s side.

Penycae 0 Llanrhaeadr 0

Great action as always through the lens of BRIAN PRYDDEN – huge thanks

Nothing separating the teams at The Riverside, where the outcome was 0-0.

Just a second point of the season for Penycae, who remain next-to-bottom.

Welshpool Town 0 Bow Street 5

Bow Street top the table after an away caning of rock bottom Welshpool.

Sion Ewart, Ben Davies, Rhydian Davies, Gwion Ap Dafydd and Ifan Burrell scored one each for the travellers.
