A thrilling comeback saw Caer Clwyd recover from two goals down to progress to the FAW Amateur Trophy second round on penalties.
Clwyd started defensively, keeping it tight at the back and frustrated Glan Conwy until the visitors eventually broke the deadlock through David Hansom in the 27th minute.
The hosts pressed for an equaliser but were hit on the counter in the 44th minute, Cai Kearney scoring to give Glan a 2-0 lead at the interval.
Clwyd changed their game plan and started to press more in the second half. The introduction of three substitutes meant they could be far more attacking and creative.
Tom Wynne went through on goal and was brought down by last defender Josh Lycett, who saw red to reduce the away side to 10 in the 65th minute.
Clwyd pressed and won a corner. A great ball in from Fran Roberts found Wynne, who headed home to halve the arrears,
The hosts now went all-out for an equaliser and were eventually rewarded after another good ball in from Fran Roberts found Nathan Bridges unmarked at the back post to nod in on 89 minutes.
At the final whistle, the tie went straight to penalties and with the visitors missing two and the home side just the one, Clwyd won the shoot-out 4-3.
Glan’s Kearney was shown a red after the final whistle.
