Wrexham’s Rosie Hughes still holds a big lead in 2022-23 Goalden Girl table

Rosie Hughes of Wrexham AFC Women looks set to be crowned North Wales Goalden Girl for the second season running after reaching 42 goals (24 league, 18 cups) in the 2022-23 campaign.

Added to the 48 she netted for the Red Dragons last term, that makes it 90 goals in just 38 league and cup appearances for the phenomenal 27-year-old.

Rosie will hope to add to her tally when Wrexham face Briton Ferry Llansawel in the Genero Adran Leagues play-off final at Latham Park, Newtown, on Sunday, April 16. The prize is promotion to the tier 1 Adran Premier League.

Wrexham AFC Women recently attained a tier 1 licence based on their new multi-year agreement with Cefn Druids to use The Rock for home matches.

With a number of North Wales Women’s League clubs still having several matches to play, it is mathematically possible that Rosie’s tally of 42 could still be passed, but it looks unlikely.
