Trearddur Bay’s Asa Thomas is not just top-scorer in Anglesey senior football in 2022-23 – he is number one in the whole of North Wales too.
The record-breaking hitman, now on 637 career goals, has amassed 55 for the current season wearing the colours of North Wales Coast West League Division One outfit Trearddur Bay.
Remarkably, Asa is yet to win the Bob Brodie Trophy for the island’s leading net-finder, although he has been in the top 10 almost every season since the competition started in 2011-12.
This season he is well and truly set to become the latest winner of the trophy which commemorates former player and manager Bob Brodie, a Holyhead-based Scot who sadly left us in 2011.
