Former Caernarfon Town striker Fidel O’Rourke has joined National League club FC Halifax Town on loan from Liverpool FC.
The 20-year-old signed for Cymru Premier club the Canaries from the Anfield Reds at the end of August 2022.
The talented striker played in 14 matches for Huw Griffiths’ side, scoring seven goals, some of them highly spectacular.
In December 2022, he won Sgorio’s Goal of the Month for his exquisite chip on the run over the goalkeeper in a match against Newtown.
Another stunner from the Liverpudlian’s boot was an overhead kick against Aberystwyth Town.
These sort of magic moments made O’Rourke a big hit with the Caernarfon fans, who were sorry to see him leave last month.
O’Rourke has progressed through the ranks at Liverpool since arriving as an U14 player and captained the U18s before becoming a regular in the U21s set-up.
He also featured for the U19s in the UEFA Youth League. The striker was also a part of the Liverpool squad that won the FA Youth Cup in 2019.
After ending his stay at Caernarfon, O’Rourke requested another spell out on loan and he now aims to help FC Halifax Town rise up the National League table, where they currently sit 17th.
